Northeast
Northeast Reno is a very diverse area. Single family residences, condo and apartments are the rule. It is home to many university students, as well as long time residents. The homes in are older (15-70 years), so it is well established, with lots of mature trees in the area. The Nevada State Fairgounds/Livestock Events Center (home of the Reno Rodeo) is located off Sutro Avenue.

Bordering on downtown, residents of the area enjoy views of the Great Reno Balloon Races. Northeast encompasses the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Shopping and services in this area plentiful, and major entertainers perform at Lawlor Events Center on the UNR campus. In 1998, Luciano Pavoratti performed at Lawlor, only one of three stops on his US tour.
